 On March 9, the productoin company of KBS 2TV's new drama series Love Rain (written by Oh Soo Yeon and directed by Yoon Suk Ho) released some picture of the leading actress SNSD's Yoona having changed into a lively girl named Hana.

In the series, Yoona is going to portray two different characters - Yoon Hee, a nice looking college student in the 70s, and Hana, a lively girl and also Yoon Hee's daughter who majored in gardening in Japan. She is going to show two different charms as a heroine of the freash, beautiful love story.

While Hokkaido of white snowy fields and Yoona's ponytail and bright smile are attracting attention, Yoona is portraying the cute, lively character of Hana in the picture. She looks so much like positive, lively girl Hana in the series that the picture make many people smile.

Yoonascolor, the production company of Love Rain says, 'Yoona has recently into Hana through the shoot in Hokkaido, where Seo Jun and Hana meet each other by destiny. She showed various charms that are different from shyly smiling Yoon Hee in the 70s. As she deeply focused on portraying the lively character Hana, she also made the atmosphere of the set bright.'

Love Rain will start airing on March 26 after Dream High 2 goes off the air.

Girls’ Generation promotes Gangnam

SNSD, which has, in many ways, led K-pop's spread overseas, has now become an icon of a different sort, this time as the new face of the posh Gangnam District in Southern Seoul.

The band was picked by the area's district office to take part in tourism promotions as it aims to attract more foreign tourists to the area, know for its concentration of entertainment agencies. On behalf of the whole group, Tiffany, Sooyoung, Jessica and SeoHyun were present at an inauguration ceremony at the office on Wednesday to celebrate their new role.

'I was born and bred in Gangnam, and still live in the district,' Sooyoung said, 'It feels great to become the face of home, and we'll try our best to make Gangnam known to the whole world.'

Electronic displays of the girl group will be placed around Incheon Internation Airport as well as in major subway stations and other tourist hot spots around the city.

A district official said that the office also hopes to recruit the help of boy band Super Junior.

Yoona and Sistar's Hyorin won the first and second postions respectively as a female 'idol' star to spend a sweet time together on White Day.

SNSD and Dangerous Boys broadcasts unveiled scenes

SNSD and Dangerous Boys is to broadcast some of the unveiled cuts of SNSD.

For two episodes in a row, from March 4 to 12, JTBC's SNSD and Dangerous Boys programs to air some unveiled scenes and the most interesting episodes selected by viewers.

The upcoming broadcasts are expected to entertain audience with interesting and touching scenes by including an episode in which SNSD and mothers of the 'Dangeraus Boys' are gathered together in some activities to bond with each other.

The four 'Dangerous Boys' of the program began their first shooting on November 20 last year and put their foot in the world of dance. After eleven weeks of camp training, they ended the program with a successful performance on Street Jam Dance Contest on February 5.

SNSD has the highest record of album sales of all Korean singers who released albums in Japan.

According to the Oricon Chart in Japan, released by Gaon Chart on February 17, SNSD sold 642, 054 copies of Girl's Generation, released in June last year.


This is the highest record of album sales of all Korean singers who entered the Japanese market. SNSD's Hoot also ranked fifth, selling 148, 761 copies.


Kara's Super Girl, released in November last year, ranked second, selling 450, 595 copies.


TVXQ's Tone, released on September 28 last year, ranked third, selling 293, 674 copies, and KARA's Girl Talk ranked fourth, selling 277, 306 copies.


The chart has been produced based on earth singer's single albums sold between December 13, 2010 and December 11, 2011.

Tiffany's mom died of cancer when she was 14 years old,

in spite of the lack of support from her family,

she moved to Korea alone to pursue her dreams of becoming a singer.

Although her real name is Stephanie,

her mother preferred the name Tiffany and thus became her stage name. 

Jessica's dad is a boxer, so that probably explains her violent side. 

Apparently she's good at soccer too,

so that explains why she likes to kick things so much.

Sooyoung gave Hyoyeon the nickname "Princess Fiona" after she returned 

from China because she'd gained some weight. Hyoyeon thought it was nice 

because she was being called a princess, and only when she looked it up she 

realized it meant something else...

Even though Yoona is considered the face of SNSD, her past remains 

remarkably unknown. People suspect that her parents divorced when 

she was younger which is why her mom is never brought up. Apparently 

she was considered an "angel" even in her trainee days, according to Yuri. 

Sunny was actually born in Kuwait during the Gulf War, but her parents 

moved to Korea when was very young. She also has a fear of fireworks. 

People suspect the two might be correlated. Nevertheless, she's not afraid 

to touch snakes, catch loaches, bugs or chickens.

Hyoyeon has 70% popularity of SNSD in America.

Seohyun speaks accentless chinese, although she is not fluent.

Taeyeon and Sooyoung were usually in different classes in High School,

but they were always in same math classes (ironically, they both hate math).

Taeyeon/Sooyoung/YoonA (former roomates) hated cockroaches so much 

that they admitted that they once burned them over a candle before.

Sunny hates red bean paste, so whenever they eat bungobbang 

(type of bread/cake with red bean in the middle), she only eats the head and the tail

Yuri was VERY skinny early in her SNSD career (eh, even more than now?),

but after appearing in the sitcom with Sooyoung, her weight increased by 5kg!

Interestingly, Sooyoung didn’t gain any weight at all over the same time period. 

Sooyoung was once so hungry that she went into the Korean BBQ house ALONE 

and had two servings of beef + dwenjjang chiggae 

(apparently her record is 6 servings on her own!)

Seohyun once tried to stick all 1000 keroro stickers she had around the dorm,

and the attempt was promptly stopped by her unnis.

Yuri once pulled a prank where she tied the shoelaces of the shoes of other 8 

members to each others and ran away.

Hyoyeon’s mom once had Hyo audition just so that she might get a chance to see H.O.T!

Back in the training days Hyoyeon changed her hair colour at least once a week, and Yuri and Seohyun were both scared of her for a while!

When Tiffany first started Yoga, she was very enthusiastic about it and begged her instructor to teach her well. Then she quit after 3 days.

The one who usually picks out Hyoyeon’s mistakes in dancing is ironically Tiffany

Tiffany, Sunny, and Go Ara (an actress with SM) once went over to Karaoke after dinner initially just to kill time to digest the food… in the end it took them 4 hours to come out!

Back in her training days, Jessica was a member of the school soccer team (and was apparently very good). SM made her quit because they were worried that she might hurt her face.

Back when she tried out for Route O, Sooyoung’s opponent for the final round of auditions was Lee Yeon Hee out of all people (who’s actually an actress now with SM)

Yuri once had an oppa friend that she liked, but he only saw her as a little brother figure! According to Yuri, he regrets it a LOT now.

Yuri and Sooyoung once went over to a public bath house and was noticed by other high school girls there, who in the end figured that SNSD wouldn’t come to such place and left without saying a word to them.

Sunny once asked YoonA what she feels herself is the worst at. YoonA responded “I’m bad at singing”.

Taeyeon once set up a banana peel on the floor and made a bet with others to see if anyone would step on it and slip. LOL.
